The goal of Prof. Kathrin Greiff’s ANTS research group is to transform our current linear waste management system into a circular economy, where materials previously considered waste are redefined as valuable resources. ANTS utilizes sensor technology and AI to analyze material flows and develops dynamic material flow models that link ecological, economic, and technical data to ultimately create smarter material cycles!
ANTS is divided into three central research groups:
- Sensor technology & Data Science: Use of sensors and artificial intelligence for greater transparency along the entire material flow.
- Processing & Process Chains: Optimization of mechanical processing and recycling processes for higher efficiency and better material quality.
- Modeling & Evaluation: Development of dynamic material flow models and analysis of the performance of circular systems. Together with ANTS, we at catalaix are committed to a circular plastics economy – for a more sustainable, climate-friendly future with conscious resource use.
