Meet Waralee Dilokekunakul!

Would you like to get a glimpse into the daily work life of a chemist? Meet Waralee Dilokekunakul!
She is a chemical engineer at the Chair of Chemical Process Engineering within catalaix and works on innovative approaches to plastics recycling.
Her research focuses on PET, one of the most commonly used plastics in our daily lives. But how is PET actually recycled?
In her work, she investigates electrochemical recycling. First, a PET bottle is shredded into smaller pieces. Subsequently, further experiments are conducted in an electrochemical flow cell.
Once the experiments are complete, Waralee Dilokekunakul analyzes the samples at the analytics center. The results help her better understand the recycling process and further develop our approach.
That is how Waralee spends her days in the laboratory, working to make the future of plastic recycling more sustainable!
